Mason William Ancell Turns 2!!!!!

I can not believe that Mason is already 2. He is doing so many fun things at this age. He is no longer my baby but a little toddler. He had a blast at his birthday party. Although he still has no idea that it was his birthday he still had a great time. Since Matt is turning 30 on the 22nd of December, I decided to surprise him with a party!! He was definitely surprised as I told him I could not have a party for him because his birthday is so close to Christmas. He bought the excuse and moved on without any questions. Surprises are very hard and exhausting and I will probably never do it again! Although we had a blast I think it took me all week to get over the excitement.

I feel like now that Mason is 2, he is doing so many funny things. His likes are Barney, Elmo, and tractors. Right now, Barney is his favorite and let's just say finding Barney toys for Christmas has been SO hard! He is talking more and more each day. I can not always make out what he is saying but he sure does know what he is saying. He still does not like people and in fact, if he has never met you don't expect him to even look at you. I can not wait for this stage to end. He gives sweet kisses and hugs. He tells me he loves me and he still wants to snuggle with me every morning and evening. I love this little snuggle bug so much and feel so blessed each and every day.

Things we have to do this year now that Mason is two....potty train and take the pacifier AWAY!!!!!!!!!!! I am not looking forward to either of things. More and more people have told me that 3 is way worse than 2 so I guess we will find out this year!

Trick or Treat!!!

We've been a little busy since Halloween. So we are a little late getting pictures up. Mason really enjoyed Halloween this year!! He did not like wearing his costume but slowly got over it as the night went on. We met up with some friends and went to a very busy neighborhood in Camdenton. It was a fun Halloween :).

PUMPKIN TIME

Sisters :)

Cheese face!!!

Even playing on the ropes was fun ;)

Typical Mason

Him and his buddy Ty :)

"I get it mom" He said that about every pumpkin

Each year, I meet my sister and mom for a fun afternoon at the pumpkin patch. Last year, the pumpkins scared Mason, and this year he couldn't get enough of all the fun activities! Every time we left something to go somewhere new, he threw a fit. I could have left him one place the entire time. Mason loves being around his cousins and when it was time to say goodbye he cried and pouted most of the way home. He just doesn't understand that we are to far away to see them all of the time. Here are some pictures of the fun we had that day :)

A Great Way to End the Summer!!!!!

Daddy and Mason building a sand castle!

Mason actually sitting in the sand ;).

Dolphin cruise was cancelled so they took us on a boat.

The Dolphins we saw

The actual Dolphin cruise we went on the next day.

First dip in the ocean.

We enjoyed our first family vacation in Gulf Shores Alabama. It was an absolute blast!!! Mason did great but was still unsure about the sand on the last day. As most of you know, Mason has to warm up to things. He absolutely hated walking in the sand and would not do it unless you held him. He just cracked us up. The weather was great, although it did rain on Thursday. We spent our days eating at restaurants, shopping, and laying on the beach. It was the perfect way to end the summer!!!

18 Months!

Mason is 18 months! Our lives went from holding a baby to chasing a toddler real quick!! I can not believe how fast it has gone. I did not enjoy the baby phase of Mason. It could have been the constant ear aches and sleepless nights or the fact that 18 months is just A LOT of FUN! Although this stage comes with its downfalls it has still been my favorite.

Mason's favorite thing to do right now is say BOO over and over again until you just can't act scared of him. LOL! He will run behind the couch and pretend like he is hiding and then jump out and yell BOO. Or, he will just be staring at you while eating dinner and start saying it. As parents, Matt and I laugh every single time at him. With that being said, he is saying more and more words everyday. He is doing everything that I do and repeating everything I say, so you know what that means.....we have to start watching what comes out of our mouths ;).

Downfalls would be what people would like to call "fits." He does not like to be told no, and when I tell him no, he sternly repeats it back to me. He also does not want to be taken from outside to inside. Yesterday he threw his cup at me and hit me he got so mad. So, this begins the time outs. Mason will actually sit in time out until I tell him it's time to come out. As of now, this works so I am not trying anything else.

I can not complain about Mason at all. Even as a baby with everything he went thru he has always been so good. Last Friday I had to take him to the eye doctor with me and he was well behaved. We were there for 4 hours and that is an eternity in a one year old's eyes. I will have to say I could not have done it without my mom there but he was still a little sweetheart :).

We are enjoying this summer so much with him. We took him to the zoo last month but it was rainy and cold so it wasn't much fun. Plus he came down with something viral and didn't feel well. Swimming is a lot of fun but he doesn't last long. We are going to plan a family vacation to the beach. Although the sprinkler freaked him out I hope he likes the sand :).

He is a growing blonde hair blue eyed boy who has his mommy and daddy wrapped around his finger :). I can not wait for the next 6 months of his life!

Here are a few pictures of him. The first one is from a year ago and it is amazing how much he has changed.
